From 31st August to 7th September 2025, King’s College Budo proudly represented Uganda at the Owlypia Global Debate Competitions hosted at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, UK. The tournament attracted 48 teams from 12 countries worldwide.
Budo fielded two junior teams (Owlets)—The Young Blood and The Budonians—and two senior teams (Owlys)—PinPoint and The Red Lions. Competing across five challenging areas, our students demonstrated remarkable skill, teamwork, and resilience.
Their efforts were richly rewarded with 2 Gold medals, 4 Silver medals, and 5 Bronze medals. Most notably, Team PinPoint emerged the overall winner in the senior category, earning a prestigious Gold Trophy—a proud victory for Africa, Uganda, and King’s College Budo.
- We extend heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God, the Owlypia organizers, our headmaster Canon JF Kazibwe, the supportive parents, Debate Patron Mrs. Nsereko AB Katana, and above all, our dedicated students who lifted the Budo flag high.
Indeed, the Gold Trophy belongs to Africa, to Uganda, and to King’s College, Budo!
Gakyali Mabaga!
