On Sunday, October 13, 2024, The Archbishop of Uganda Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu visited King’s College, Budo for prayers with students from both junior and senior services. He began by expressing his conviction to pray with the school, especially the candidates, saying:
“Do not be discouraged by what you haven’t seen yet. The best is yet to come. God knows what He’s doing, and He has a plan to prosper, not destroy.”
Archbishop Mugalu’s message focused on casting anxiety onto God, citing Psalm 55:22, “Bring all your cares to Him, and He will sustain you.” He encouraged the S4 and S6 candidates to trust in God’s presence and provision.
Key points from his sermon:
– God is always with you, from beginning to end.
– Be still and know God is Lord (Psalm 46).
– Do not be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:6).
– Our God is not deaf; He knows and cares for us.
Concluding with Lamentations 3:23, Archbishop Mugalu emphasized God’s faithfulness and renewal.
His family ministered through a song.
The Archbishop commended the Headmaster Canon John Fred Kazibwe for his leadership.
In his remarks at the end of the service, Canon John Fred Kazibwe expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for visiting King’s College, Budo at a time like this when S4 candidates were to sit their first paper on Monday. He encouraged the congregation to invest in people, do good and to continue trusting God because He cares.
Its was indeed a blessed day,
Gakyali Mabaga.
