The Mothers Union fellowship of King’s College, Budo celebrated Mary’s Day alongside students during the Seniors’ Service on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.  The main reason for this service happening during the senior students service was to inspire the young generation towards marriage. The guest preacher, Rev. Ntale  Kisakye the Parish Priest of Nsangi, also made a pastoral visit to the school on the same day. Married women from the Budo community were elegantly dressed in blue and white, while their husbands were adorned in kanzus and jackets, creating a vibrant and colorful scene.

During this service, a number of married women were initiated into the fellowship and they received membership certificates.

During his sermon, Rev. Ntale Kisakye, drew lessons from scripture in 1 Peter 5:5-10,  and called upon the congregation to:

  1. Embrace humility in all aspects of life.
  2. Practice submission in relationships.
  3. Understand that genuine humility is a form of intelligent self-respect that guards against both pride and low self-esteem.
  4. Dedicate themselves to nurturing strong marriages.
  5. Trust in God’s ability to deliver His people; therefore, submit to Him and have faith in His deliverance.
  6. Cast all anxieties upon God, knowing He cares deeply for each individual in every circumstance.
  7. Stand firm against the temptations of the devil.
  8. Cultivate a spirit of forgiveness, recognizing that forgiveness is reciprocated.
  9. Seek reconciliation daily and maintain peace in all relationships.

We thank God for a colourful day,

Gakyali Mabaga.
